A very unpretentious restaurant on the edge of Clear Lake just off I-35. It is not a dump just a clean plain exterior and interior. Service was quick as I wasn't quite seated when a matronly server was waiting for me to settle in and gave me a menu and went to retrieve some coffee. Coffee is standard restaurant supplied and nothing special but while traveling when I need coffee, then coffee is coffee and that's all I can say. There are nice choices for breakfast, served all day which is a plus and lunch items. All very American style. The omelet was served in what seemed to be less than five minutes with thick slices of hot buttered toasted sourdough bread. The tab was so low I thought there was an error. An excellent bargain. A good spot for reading as with industrial type florescent lights with distortion panels makes it very bright inside. There does not appear to be a website nor was there any Wi-Fi making it appealing for the more luddite.

Service was very fast and friendly. Great for a quick stop off i35. All the food seems like it is from a can or frozen. Not the home town from scratch I place I was expecting. More like a high school cafeteria than a dinner.

Don't let the simple exterior of this restaurant fool you. This small town place serves excellent home style cooking. We had the Fried Chicken Filet, Healthy Heart with Baked Cod, and the kids grilled cheese sandwich. We were pleased with all of our dishes. We especially loved the caring staff. Not only did they provide excellent service they went above and beyond. They assisted numerous customers to and from their cars. And accommodated to all of our requests and demands. We will be returning to the Seven Stars Family Restaurant on any future road trips.

I do not understand the high reviews at this family diner. Not the cleanest, especially the gross, sticky ladies room floor. Absolutely no charm in the décor - bare, bare, bare. The only plusses I give it are CHEAP and FAST. Service was brusk and not terribly friendly. The food was Meh! We stopped for breakfast on a Sat. Had the corned beef hash with eggs, hash browns and a pancake. I would not come here again. Life is too short to not find better meals. final word: Absolutely BORING.

Forgot about this place. Pure comfort food. Met with my parents for breakfast on my way to Iowa City for a business meeting. They have great combo meals with pancakes waffles eggs sausage bacon etc. My dad had the biscuits and gravy and loved it. Very fast service also and right off I-35. Classic family diner.

Not bad. Fast service. Husband got the hot meatloaf dinner and meatloaf was gross. Reminded me of sliced turkey roast cooked in foil pan. I got the French dip and it was ok. Good beef and juice. If you are looking for lots of choices and good prices, come here!

Our family LOVES this place!! We eat here every Sunday night if possible. Menu is large and breakfast served all day. Fast service and good home cooked food. Tend to be busy on Sunday's due to after church crowd. Will accommodate large groups fairly easily. Highly recommend!!

Service was fast. The food was good and the prices were right! I was easily seated with my party of 6 on a Saturday morning. As a visitor from Los Angeles, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and deliciousness of the breakfast. There were healthy portions, food from the heart, served with a smile. Yum!

While traveling we like to find the family restaurant that the locals go to - this is it! Low prices, home cooking. We both chose the 6oz ribeye that came with fettuccine Alfredo rather than a potato, plus a decent garden salad. The fettuccine was a delicious alternative. The steak was very thin but tasty. A GREAT value. We'll try and stop next time driving through Iowa.

Good food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Breakfast all day if you want it, and daily specials. A nice place to stop if just passing by on I-35, or spending more time in Clear Lake.
